The Farm Wedding, Rome Georgia | Julie & Chase

We had the pleasure of meeting Julie and Chase at The Farm in Rome, Georgia for their gorgeous wedding day. If you’ve never been to one, The Farm weddings are absolutely stunning. The venue is gorgeous and soo expansive; I’m sure we didn’t even see half of it the day we were there! We were too busy hanging out with Julie and Chase and all their closest friends and family (who were awesome, by the way!). It was a beautiful wedding, complete with a custom-built arch and homemade desserts. Julie and Chase were so so adorable on wedding day. Julie looked so excited to get married (don’t let all her soft and sweet photos fool you, there were tons of her looking all giddy and excited, too!), and we were pretty sure Chase was nervous and anxious to marry his sweetheart. They were so so cute.

The Farm was beautiful from the overall scene down to the details in the walls. Just a beautiful place an like nowhere you’ve ever seen.

Atlanta-Wedding-Photographers-Nathan-And-Natosha-Photography-TheFarm-Rome-JulieChase-Blog-2_Blog.jpgJulie and Chase got to use all the guest houses on property, which meant they had all been there for an entire day by the time we showed up. The guest cottages were awesome spaces for getting ready, especially the breakfast area in the bridal cottage. We spent most of the early part of our day there basking is gorgeous, glow-y light while Julie and the girls got ready.

Is this not the cutest flower girl that you ever did see?

Every guy should send his girl a letter or a gift on wedding day. It should be a rule.

We did get a chance to stop in and see the guys for a few minutes. They lined up and gave us their tough faces.

We dodged a summer shower by (what seemed like) less than an hour, they wiped the seats off, and we were out in the field watching Julie and Chase get married! Their wedding day just swept by. But not without one of the sweetest ceremonies you’ve ever seen. Before the flower girl could even get down the aisle, Chase was choking back the tears. It was so sweet, and I am sure made Julie feel like the most gorgeous girl on the planet at that moment. The ceremony had some laughs (right, Brian?), they kissed in front of an absolutely gorgeous barn backdrop, and it was party time!

We always follow the couple out of the ceremony at the end of the wedding. I have a firm belief that those fleeting moments are sacred, and some of the most important moments of the entire day. Apparently, Julie and Chase read my mind because they spent all the time they needed just enjoying being married. Their photos were completely unscriped and unposed, our favorite type of photos ever!

Okay. That last group photo was slightly posed (;)), but the others were all Julie and Chase. Including the next set. They asked for these (and we even sent someone to get the pitchfork), and they came out adorable. Love them.

It wasn’t long before the happy couple was introduced to the party and kicked off a beautiful night of dancing and fun food. I just love the emotion of their dancing photos. They are so wrapped up in each other that it feels like the world is moving all around them and they’re just in their own world. As it should be. <3

Julie and Chase, it was so awesome getting to know you two this year! Y’all are so much fun and so in love (and we love that about you!). We truly hope your first year of marriage is as awesome as your wedding day (and better!).

–> If you’re friends and family of Julie and Chase, comment on our blog post. If they get comments from 25 people by October 15th, we’ll upgrade their 16×20 canvas to a 20×30 as a gift from everyone who pinned their photo! And stay tuned because if they reach that goal this week, we’ll be adding another challenge!

A Braselton Stover House Wedding, Braselton, Georgia | Katie & Heath

It was a gorgeous late spring day for a Braselton Stover House wedding. The venue is amazing. It was perfect weather for a  Georgia spring wedding; the trees and flowers were blooming. It was warm outside but not too warm. It was just dreamy.

When we got to town, we found Heath and his guys hanging out at the local Men’s Room getting all shaved up. The Men’s Room is a really cool barbershop, probably the coolest one I’ve ever been in. 😉 (<- In case you’re wondering, Natosha writes all our blog posts ;)).

Afterwards, we met Katie and the girls over at the Braselton Stover House to catch them getting ready. The Braselton Stover House was an awesome venue. Braselton Stover House weddings are classically southern, much like the venue, itself. There are gorgeous old trees towering over the antebellum home. The grounds are groomed gorgeously, and there is a tree with a heart shaped callous. How cool is that?! And if you’re sneaky, there is an old barn next door that’s just perfect for taking photos next to. 😉

The bridal suite was so spacious, and the guys had almost the entire historic home to themselves. Heath and Katie decided to exchange gifts on wedding day. Heath is into movies, so Katie sent a song from a movie over with her gift (played on the phone by her sister in green). And Heath mentioned doing a similar thing in the letter he sent to her, but thought it might be cheesy. Great minds think alike. 😉

Katie’s parents were very involved for the day (her mom made both the cakes!). I love how these two photos came together of Katie with her parents.:)

The ceremony location was stunning, especially with Katie and Heath’s special touches of lanterns and burlap. And they even made some awesome centerpieces for the reception. Katie is a stunning southern lady with some much classic grace (and a fun side).

They had the cutest ring bearer and can we take a minute to talk about the suspenders?! All the guys had on monogrammed suspenders…yes, even the ring bearer. Adorable. He was totally the star of the show. Until the lovely lady and her dad came around the corner. Then it was all smiles and waterworks for the next 30 minutes.

Their ceremony was amazing. Like usual, I think a few tears fell from my cheeks during their ceremony. In place of a candle ceremony, they performed a foot washing ceremony. I’m in love with it. It was so sweet and God-centered. Even though I have heard of them before, I’ve never seen one done in person. It was gorgeous and elegant, not at all like I had envisioned.

We got to sneak away with the gorgeous couple after the ceremony (it’s our favorite part of wedding days!!). It’s a great time to just breathe and enjoy the happy rush you get walking down the aisle. Looking back, it was our favorite moment of our own wedding day. Our photographer captured the emotion of that moment, and as photographers, we try to help you savor that special moment of the day. You can even kick off your shoes (you can’t tell, but Katie did just that!). 😉

We even stopped by the sign they made on our way back into the reception. They had so many fun details throughout the venue. From the letters on the door (above) to the teal card cage, sign in frame, and even the cake stand. And that cake! Gorgeous!

The reception was a blast for everyone! Even the kids were groovin’!

And there’s a story to go with this next little set. We know you want photos of the bouquet and garter toss. And it can be a technically difficult photo to capture (it’s dark, there’s a tiny, moving object to get into focus, and emotions to capture all at once). So, just to be sure that Nathan and I are ready to capture the moment, I always stand in front of (or near) the bride and groom to count off the toss. So, I’m telling Heath, “No, not yet. I need just another second or two to get the settings all right.” He was fidgeting with the garter asking how to throw it and I’m telling him his options. He asks again if I’m ready. I wasn’t. (…Because we were talking through tossing options). And can you see the expression on his face. “Oh, really. How about this?” That stinker. Tossed it before I was totally set. He’s lucky we’re as good as we are because I actually did capture the entire moment (almost) like I wanted it to look. 😛 Good thing we’re good. 😉

And after a long night of fun and partying at a Braselton Stover House wedding on a perfect spring day, the couple was sent off into the night with a blast of sparklers. Oh, how I love weddings!!

Julie & Chase | Holi Powder Atlanta Engagement Photography

We like to be friends with our wedding photography clients on Facebook, because, let’s face it, we like being friends! We think part of our job of being southern wedding photographers is developing a true friendship with our clients. And sometimes, we get to see when your own friends or family get engaged. And that brings us to Julie and Chase. Julie is Ashley’s sister (who just had a wedding at Cenita Vineyards). To propose, Chase had the family grab a camcorder while he jumped out of a box at Christmas. Priceless. But even more awesome than the box, was the super sweet note he wrote on the outside of it. (Julie showed it to us when we met before their Atlanta engagement photography session.) Adorable.

Fast forward through all the details and we arrive at the most amazing day for an engagement session. It was the perfect temperature outside and overcast. They had plans for a holi powder engagement session (colored powder like you would see at races and runs). We love the thrill of showing up at a new location that no photographer has ever had the chance to visit (which is why we let our clients drive the engagement session planning boat). Julie has a gracious friend who owns a powder coating business in an awesome warehouse. Even though we knew they wanted to get messy, we started out with some warm-up photos that were a little bit more traditional.

Okay! So! (this is my excited voice!!) The light was amazing. This couple is absolutely stunning. And the early March weather was incredible. It was the perfect storm. We l.o.v.e this session and how it turned out. Okay!!! On to the good stuff. Gaahhh! So excited!

Believe it or not, those were the warmup photos. Yeah. We were in perfect photography heaven.

There were these old gas pumps just outside the warehouse (used by a nearby business). We just couldn’t resist at least walking by to take a look. Sometimes detail shots add the perfect touch of ambiance.
Since we were all warmed up (creatively…we were a tad chilly physically ;)), we headed back to the warehouse to get some photos of this adorable couple just hanging out together.
Are they not the cutest couple you’ve ever seen?
Yeah, we think so, too. And we just adore this next photo so much, we even posted an unedited one on Facebook.
And how about another detail? (could it be a foreshadowing?)
A quick change of outfit prompted a few different emotions from this sweet and totally laid back couple. I love how they were just themselves the whole time.
And now…….on to the fun colorful party!
It was a blast!! There were lots of surprises along the way and “special touches” like that blue hand print on Chase’s shirt. 😉
I just absolutely adore this next photo. She’s holding a tiny little canvas up in front of her face like it’s going to protect her from that cloud of orange. 😛
We got a few photos for their Save The Dates.
Pretty sure Chase only threw red powder. I think Julie took all the other colors and threw them on Chase. He’s looking a bit like Rainbow Bright if you ask me…
It was a blast, but we easily convinced this sweet couple to lay down on the dirty floor covered in powder. There definitely wasn’t any arguing when they found out they got to cuddle for the last portion of the session.:)

Julie and Chase,

We just adored hanging out with the two of you during your Atlanta engagement photography session! We can’t wait for your wedding at The Farm in a few short months.

Kathy Jones Smith - March 10, 2014 - 6:47 pm

The photos turned out amazing. I love them.

Douglasville Newborn Photographer | Scarlet

Great news!! We celebrated Graham’s (almost) 6 month birthday party today! It has been one wild ride, but we wouldn’t have traded it for anything. Finally, life has calmed down a bit and we’ve rebounded from the rocky start we had (3 hospital visits in Graham’s first 3 weeks).

We had the privilage to meet up with another sweet, fresh little family similar to ours. This sweet little family just had their litttle Scarlet 5 weeks early, and they got to come home on time! What a miracle! Then, a few weeks later, they found out she had a few minior complications and needed to go to Children’s Hospital of Atlanta (just like our family)!! Needless to say, I feel such a connection with Kirsty. Thankfully, both our families made it out unscathed and I got to head over to her home for a sleepy session with her adorable Scarlet.

Scarlet was awake when I got to her house.
We only had a few minutes to some photos with her eyes open before she decided it was her naptime.:)

One big yawn and she was asleep for good.

We swaddled her in Kirsty’s own baby blanket that her great-grandmother knitted! Yes! You heard that right! It was even the last blanket that she ever knitted. I love sentimental photos.

I looooved Scarlet’s nursery! The colors were perfect and her mom and dad got that awesome gray wing back chair and turned it into a rocking chair. Love it! And there was an amazing fuzzy rug! A photographer’s dream nursery. 😉

The next few are so priceless. I can just imagine seeing her adorable silhouette on one of those textbook images of a baby in the womb.

We had to get a few with mom and dad. Even though I’m not sharing all of the photos here, I promise we got some of dad’s face. 😉 There’s nothing more precious than holding a baby in your arms. I read a quote once that said to hold a baby and/or a puppy every chance you get. Holding my own baby, I know that holding him while he’s sleeping is one of my favorite things to do. I know Kirsty will cherish these photos to remind her of these precious, fleeting moments.:)

And before I left, I had to get some of Scarlet on the bed. Before her mom and dad know it, she’ll be jumping on this thing!
